Netlify + OrchestrAI
Catalog exported 2026-09-02 · Netlify website
Trigger, watch, cancel, and delete Netlify deploys from chat, with approval before every change to a site.
OrchestrAI exposes 7 Netlify operations: 4 are low-risk (read-only or low-impact), and 3 create or modify resources and run only after you confirm the plan. 3 of them also carry a step-level approval gate.
What teams use it for
Frontend teams connect a Netlify token so anyone in the channel can ask which sites exist, which deploy is live for marketing-site, and what the events for a failed build were, without handing out dashboard seats. Kicking off a rebuild after a CMS change, stopping a deploy that is publishing the wrong branch, and removing an old deploy all go through approval and confirmation because they alter what visitors see. Netlify environment variables, custom domains, and rollback to a prior deploy are not covered by any operation yet, so those stay in the Netlify UI.
Every Netlify operation, with its risk level
| Operation | What it does | Risk | Step-level approval |
|---|---|---|---|
Get Managed Platform Deployment Events |
Fetch normalized deployment events, machine events, or deployment details for Vercel, Fly.io, Netlify, and Render | Low risk | No |
List Managed Platform Deployments |
List deployments, machines, or runtime resources for providers that expose deployment inventory | Low risk | No |
List Managed Platform Projects |
List projects, apps, sites, databases, or clusters for supported PaaS and managed database providers | Low risk | No |
Validate Managed Platform Connection |
Validate configured credentials for a supported PaaS or managed database provider | Low risk | No |
Cancel Managed Platform Deployment |
Cancel an in-flight deployment for Vercel, Netlify, or Render with approval and confirmation | Modifies existing | Yes |
Delete Managed Platform Deployment |
Delete a deployment for Vercel or Netlify with approval and explicit confirmation | Modifies existing | Yes |
Trigger Managed Platform Deployment |
Trigger an approval-gated deployment or build for Vercel, Railway, Netlify, or Render | Modifies existing | Yes |
Risk tiers come from the catalog: low is read-only or low-impact, medium creates resources and is reversible, high modifies existing resources, destructive may lose data. Every plan that creates or changes resources is shown with its cost estimate and waits for your confirmation. Operations marked with a step-level approval pause again on their own step. Destructive operations require a typed risk phrase.
What you connect
A Netlify credential (stored as vercel, netlify, render, fly, railway, neon, supabase, planetscale, upstash, aiven, cockroachdb_cloud).
Connected-service tokens are envelope-encrypted with a per-record key wrapped by a cloud KMS.
Prompts that work
- Show me the last five deploys for the docs-site on Netlify and whether the newest one succeeded
- Trigger a new build for marketing-site, the content team just published in the CMS
- Cancel the deploy that just started on storefront-preview, it is building the wrong branch
Before anything runs
Every mutation shows its plan, cost estimate, and blast radius, then waits for your confirmation. Destructive operations require a typed risk phrase. Credentials are minted per run through OIDC federation and discarded afterward; nothing you create here is invisible later, because every resource lands in the desired-state ledger where drift is detected and can be converged. Frequently asked questions
- Can OrchestrAI roll back a Netlify site to a previous deploy?
- Not directly. There is no operation that re-publishes an older deploy. You can list deploys and read their events to find the one you want, then trigger a fresh build from the right commit or publish the older deploy in Netlify.
- Is triggering a Netlify deploy through OrchestrAI safe?
- managed_platform_trigger_deployment is rated high risk and is approval-gated, so the agent states the site it is about to build and waits for confirmation. Reads such as listing sites and fetching deploy events carry no gate.
- How does OrchestrAI authenticate to Netlify?
- You add a Netlify credential once in the connections screen. It is envelope-encrypted with a per-record key wrapped by a cloud KMS and is only decrypted inside the run that needs it.
