Amazon ElastiCache with OrchestrAI

Catalog exported 2026-09-02

Deploy Amazon ElastiCache from chat: Redis and Memcached clusters, replication groups, and RBAC users.

OrchestrAI exposes 6 ElastiCache operations: 6 create or modify resources and run only after you confirm the plan. 1 of them also carries a step-level approval gate.

What teams use it for

Teams use OrchestrAI to bring up a Redis replication group with Multi-AZ, a single Memcached cluster for session storage, the subnet group it lives in, and the users and user groups that back RBAC authentication. All creation operations are medium risk, and deleting a cluster is high risk with confirmation. There is no describe, list, or modify operation for ElastiCache, so checking endpoint addresses, node status, or changing a node type is done in the console.

Every ElastiCache operation, with its risk level

Amazon ElastiCache operations available through OrchestrAI
Operation What it does Risk Step-level approval
Create ElastiCache Cluster Create an ElastiCache Redis or Memcached cluster Creates resources No
Create ElastiCache Replication Group Create an ElastiCache Redis replication group with Multi-AZ Creates resources No
Create ElastiCache Subnet Group Create an ElastiCache subnet group for VPC deployment Creates resources No
Create ElastiCache User Create an ElastiCache user for RBAC authentication Creates resources No
Create ElastiCache User Group Create an ElastiCache user group for RBAC Creates resources No
Delete ElastiCache Cluster Delete an ElastiCache cluster Modifies existing Yes

Risk tiers come from the catalog: low is read-only or low-impact, medium creates resources and is reversible, high modifies existing resources, destructive may lose data. Every plan that creates or changes resources is shown with its cost estimate and waits for your confirmation. Operations marked with a step-level approval pause again on their own step. Destructive operations require a typed risk phrase.

Prompts that work

  • Create an ElastiCache subnet group named cache-subnets using the private subnets in app-vpc
  • Create a Multi-AZ Redis replication group called sessions-redis with cache.t4g.small nodes in us-east-1
  • Create an ElastiCache user app-reader with read-only access and add it to the app-users user group

Before anything runs

Every mutation shows its plan, cost estimate, and blast radius, then waits for your confirmation. Destructive operations require a typed risk phrase. Credentials are minted per run through OIDC federation and discarded afterward; nothing you create here is invisible later, because every resource lands in the desired-state ledger where drift is detected and can be converged. Frequently asked questions

Can OrchestrAI show me the endpoint of an ElastiCache cluster?
No, there are no read operations for ElastiCache yet, so endpoint addresses and node status come from the console.
Does OrchestrAI support ElastiCache RBAC?
Yes, it can create users and user groups for Redis role-based access control alongside the replication group.
Which ElastiCache operations need an extra approval step?
One operation carries a step-level approval gate on top of plan confirmation: Delete ElastiCache Cluster. None of them is classed destructive.
